Quick FAQs
-
The first lesson will consist mostly of talking and getting to know each other to co-create a comfortable learning environment and successful learning plan. Things like what experience and backgrounds we both bring to the table, your musical goals, how you like to learn, any prior experience you may or may not have, and how to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We will also play some music together :)

A lot of us are actually “slow learners” and it’s totally normal to feel like one. We will go at a pace that feels right for you. We can also discuss how you learn best and create a learning plan together.
-
In-person is certainly preferred and recommended. It is much easier to learn in a fun and engaging way in-person. That being said, doing lessons over Zoom is possible in circumstances that make in-person challenging (illness, weather, other).

That’s totally fine. If your musical goals change, we can shift our learning plan at any time. Also, all students begin with the same basic understandings of common concepts that can be transferred to other instruments quite easily.
-
Sometimes we can take younger students. If you are keen to work with us but are under the age limit please contact us below.

Although only Piano, Guitar, and Singing are listed as options, we can focus on other instruments as well (mostly beginner level). Maxime has experience playing fiddle/violin, saxophone, trombone, various percussion instruments, and a whole bunch of fun and eccentric instruments (didgeridoo, melodica, harmonica, spoons, jaw’s harp, kazoo, and more!).
